Intellinova® Parallel MB
DIN-rail four-channel parallel measuring units running on Modbus RTU
- Part number
- INSMB4V / INSMB4S
- Brand
- SPM Instrument

Small measuring units that plug straight into existing automation infrastructure. They measure four channels in parallel and deliver the result to a PLC or SCADA over Modbus RTU, with no separate monitoring server required. Available as INSMB4V, measuring vibration and shock pulse together, and INSMB4S for shock pulse only.
Highlights
- Parallel measurement on 4 channels, DIN-rail mounted
- Modbus RTU — connects straight to existing PLC/SCADA infrastructure
- 6 DIOs, each configurable as input or output
- Online and offline operation, selected by rotary switch
- Order tracking via 2 RPM inputs
Measured values and symptoms are compared against the configured alarm level, and any of the six DIOs — each configurable as an input or an output — can be triggered to drive a relay. Alarm delay can be based on time (0–1800 s) or on the number of measurements (0–1000). A green/red LED per channel shows the status of the latest reading.
The unit runs in online or offline mode, selected by rotary switches on the front. In online mode it acts as a Modbus RTU device: the Modbus master configures the measurements and reads the results. In offline mode the measurements are defined in an internal text file created with the PRO230 configuration software; that file can hold a large number of distinct configurations, again selected with the rotary switches.
A cumulative moving average is calculated for all measured parameters and symptoms, and those averages can also trigger alarms. Two RPM inputs enable order-tracking based measurement. The units can be installed in the field two at a time in the INS50 cabinet system (IND50 / IND50SS).
